As 2024 draws to a close, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you on behalf of St Vincent’s Foundation Queensland for your incredible support throughout the year.

As a growing charity, now in our third year, your commitment has been pivotal in helping us make a significant impact across St Vincent’s hospitals and aged care facilities.

One of our proudest achievements has been the Elizabeth Fraser Education Scholarships, named in honour of Mrs. Elizabeth Fraser. Over the past two years, these scholarships have empowered 47 of our dedicated staff with opportunities to enhance their skills and improve patient and resident care. These scholarships have supported:

  • Attendance at conferences
  • Further tertiary education
  • On-site training for our physiotherapists in Toowoomba, eliminating the need for interstate travel
  • Enhancements in food services and office administration
  • Diabetes educator training in regional areas
  • Specialisation in immunisation for maternity ward staff
  • Lactation consultant training to assist new mothers
  • Enhanced dementia treatment and bereavement counselling
  • Advanced training to improve wound care

Beyond education, we’ve been able to fund over $200,000 in vital equipment for our hospitals and aged care facilities, including:

  • Renovations of the Giovanni Chapel
  • Reclining chairs for the Palliative Care Ward
  • New hospital beds and patient trolleys
  • Bariatric reclining chairs and walking aids
  • Blanket warmers and vein finders
  • New seating at St Vincent’s Care Carseldine
  • A dementia storyboard table at Kangaroo Point
  • Support for Virtual Reality therapy at Carina
  • A piano for music therapy at Boondall

These initiatives and countless others have been made possible because of your generosity.

Our community has also rallied together through events like holding dinners & lunches, the colourful annual Bowls Day at Club Chermside, taking part in the Bridge to Brisbane fun run, and many other fundraisers.

To everyone who joined in or supported these events, thank you for making a difference.

As we look forward to 2025, your continued support will help us deliver our goal of better and fairer care, always, for those who need it most. Together, we can make an even bigger impact.

Wishing you a joyful and safe Christmas, and we will continue to share more updates with you in the new year highlighting how your generosity is transforming lives.
